PACE criticizes French Senate`s bill on so-called Armenian genocide

The Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe (PACE) says about inadmissibility of use of history as an instrument of political fight.
Thus, the PACE responded to the bill of the French Senate on criminalizing the denial of the so-called Armenian genocide.
The MP of the Turkish Parliament Pelin Gundesh said it is very important for Turkey. Henceforth, we have the decision of the Council of Europe regarding the relations with France.
The Freedom House watchdog organization sharply criticized the bill as well.
The collection of signatures to appeal the bill is underway. A number of signatures of the MPs of French Parliament is approaching to a number sufficient for protest in the Constitutional Court.
Meanwhile, President of France Nicolas Sarkozy falls from favor before the Presidential elections compared with his rival from the Socialist Party François Hollande.
