Park "Azerbaijan" and monument to Azerbaijani martyrs opened in Turkey

A park "Azerbaijan" and monument erected to Azerbaijani martyrs have been opened in the city of Elazig, Turkey. 
The opening ceremony brought together Elazig Governor Muammer Erol, Turkish MP Shuay Alpay, chairman of Union of Azerbaijani Writers, People`s Writer Anar, chairman of the Union of Eurasian Authors, Yakup Deliomeroglu, rector of Firat University Feyzi Bingol, officials of the Culture and Tourism Ministry of Azerbaijan.
Speaking at the event Deliomeroglu said this monument, erected to the memory of Azerbaijani and Turkish martyrs, who gave their lives for the independence of Azerbaijan is the first as such in Turkey.
People`s Writer Anar spoke of mutual support Azerbaijan and Turkey render to each other.
The participants put flowers at the monument.

On May 19th President of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev, who is in Chicago, the USA, to attend a NATO summit, met Georgian leader Mikheil Saakashvili. 
The two presidents praised the development of the Azerbaijan-Georgia relations in a variety of fields.
