Embassy of Azerbaijan to United States issues medal to mark state independence

The Embassy of Azerbaijan to the United States issued a medal to mark the 20th anniversary of the restoration of Azerbaijan's independence. The bronze medal highlights National Emblem of Azerbaijan and a slogan in English and Azerbaijan's map on the back side.
The Azerbaijan ambassador to the United States Yashar Aliyev presented the medal to the participants of the event.
At the ceremony, the U.S. Representative for Pennsylvania's 9th congressional district, member of the Republican Party and Co-chairman of the US House of Representatives' working group on Azerbaijan Bill Shuster and Congressman Dan Boren representing the 2nd Congressional District of Oklahoma were conferred with medals for their contribution into the development of Azerbaijan-United States relations.

On May 19th President of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev, who is in Chicago, the USA, to attend a NATO summit, met Georgian leader Mikheil Saakashvili. 
The two presidents praised the development of the Azerbaijan-Georgia relations in a variety of fields.
