Azeri parliamentary journalists call on French counterparts to protest pro-Armenian Senate bill

The Azerbaijan Parliamentary Journalists Association has called on French journalists to protest the passage by the country`s Senate of a bill criminalizing the denial of the so-called Armenian genocide.
Head of the Association, Elshad Eyvazly, said: "First and foremost, the bill restricts the French citizens` right to freedom of expression. There is a big number of opponents of the Armenian genocide issue in the Senate itself and within the French society."
"This means that the bill contradict the principles of freedom of speech in France. So, journalists should show solidarity in this issue, and protest the adoption of the draft law," Eyvazly added.
