Azerbaijani ambassador to US makes report at Johns Hopkins School of Advanced International Studies

Azerbaijani ambassador to the United States, Elin Suleymanov has made a report at the Johns Hopkins School of Advanced International Studies. 
Suleymanov highlighted the accomplishments achieved in Azerbaijan over the past 20 years since it regained independence, the country`s role in realization of regional projects and Azerbaijan-U.S. relationship.
The diplomat drew the attention to the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict, underlining the necessity of reaching peace between Armenia and Azerbaijan in terms of development of the region. He expressed hope the US, as a co-chair of the OSCE Minsk Group, would be more active in settlement of the conflict.
The ambassador also pointed out Azerbaijan was an example for its tolerance in the world, adding representatives of all religious confessions co-exist peacefully in the country.
The event was attended by teachers and students of the Johns Hopkins University, officials of the US Department of State, Department of Defense, diplomats, businessmen, representatives of NGOs and media.

On May 19th President of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev, who is in Chicago, the USA, to attend a NATO summit, met Georgian leader Mikheil Saakashvili. 
The two presidents praised the development of the Azerbaijan-Georgia relations in a variety of fields.
