Turkish Ambassador: French Senate`s decision against freedom of speech

Turkish Ambassador to Azerbaijan has condemned the French Senate`s passing a bill criminalizing the denial of the so-called Armenian genocide.
"The French Senate`s unjust decision contradicts the freedom of speech, thought and expression," he told reporters.
"This is the game of a small group of politicians. This decision does not correspond to the current principles of France."
The ambassador described the French Senate`s move "a spot on the history of the French people".
"We, as a Turkic world, condemn this step. We accept this as disrespect to us. France has no authority to judge Turkey," he added.
The ambassador also thanked the government and the people of Azerbaijan for "their position on the issue".
