Press briefing held as part of WHO Regional Committee for Europe`s session in Baku

A press briefing has been held as part of the 61st session of the World Health Organization`s Regional Committee for Europe, which is continuing in Baku.
Speaking to the briefing, Agis Tsouros, Head of Policy and Cross-cutting Programmes and Regional Director`s Special Projects at WHO Regional Office for Europe, said the session featured discussions on social factors impacting people`s health.
Tsouros also highlighted migration-related issues. He stressed the necessity of ensuring the protection of health rights of migrants.
He condemned illegal human organ transplantation.
"The execution of such illegal operations is inadmissible. UN is also against illegal transplantation of human organs and their sale with legal commercial reasons."
"An illegal transplantation of human organs is contrary to the human rights and the World Health organization condemns it," Tsouros added.
