Azerbaijan to increase gas export to Russia

Chairman of the Management Committee (CEO) of Russian energy company Gazprom Alexey Miller has met President of the State Oil Company of Azerbaijan (SOCAR) Rovnag Abdullayev in Moscow.
According to the agreement reached at the meeting, Gazprom will raise the volume of gas that it purchases from Azerbaijani by 1.5 times in 2012.
Miller and Abdullayev expressed confidence bilateral cooperation between the two companies would contribute to strengthening Azerbaijan-Russia strategic relations.
Gazprom plans to purchase 3bn cubic meters gas from Azerbaijan in 2012. Currently this figure is 2bn cubic meters.

On May 19th President of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev, who is in Chicago, the USA, to attend a NATO summit, met Georgian leader Mikheil Saakashvili. 
The two presidents praised the development of the Azerbaijan-Georgia relations in a variety of fields.
